Course 110: Intro to Bookkeeping and Payroll

Occupational Objective:

The graduate should be able to acquire an entry-level position in bookkeeping and/or payroll processing.

Educational Topics:

Understanding financial statements, journal entries, accounting methods, account types, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account registers, payments, receiving payments, sales tax, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, loan, liabilities, inventory, cost of goods sold, payroll, payroll taxes, reconciliations and more.

Course Pre-Requisites:

Prospective students for Course 110 must be at least 16 years old and have a desire to learn bookkeeping and payroll. An introductory phone call or in-person visit with each prospective student is required. Students enrolling in the online/synchronous Course 110 must have a computer and internet connection. All students must be proficient in typing, 10-key, and Microsoft Excel.
